Our balanced program offers opportunities for self-directed play, large group/teacher-led time and small group/individual work with teacher support. We welcome children of all races, nationalities, and religions. While we respect the personal beliefs of parents our Admissions Policy requires children to be current with immunizations. Please see a physician if clarification is needed.
For entry to the Honey Bees class children must be at least 2.5 years old at the start of the school year in August. It is preferred if children are potty trained though not essential. Honey Bees is the perfect introduction to a group setting and to preschool. There are numerous opportunities for self-directed play in our thoughtfully planned classrooms where curiosity and creativity are encouraged. Play is essential for children to develop socially, emotionally, physically and mentally. We have adopted some of the Handwriting Without Tears® materials in our classroom and use this alongside our own thoughtfully planned activities. Our goal is to maintain a joyful and playful environment while guiding the development of the whole child. For entry to our Pre-School Class children should be 3 years old by December.
In our Pre-K Bumble Bees class carefully planned activities and thoughtfully presented materials provide opportunities for children to develop skills and acquire a lifelong love of learning. We continue to include opportunities for self-directed play but our group times are extended to engage children in activities to help develop skills in Language and Literacy, Social and Emotional Development, English Language Development and Mathematics. Children in all our Pre-K classes benefit from one on one handwriting instruction on a daily basis using Handwriting Without Tears®. For entry to our Pre-K Class children should be 4 years old by December.
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Our STEM class encourages natural curiosity to encourage children to question, hypothesize, observe, explore and build. Children will have the materials to put their ideas into action, reflect on them, then figure out how they can take this idea or process up another notch!

Early exposure to STEM supports children’s overall academic growth, develops early critical thinking and reasoning skills, and enhances later interest in STEM study and careers. You will be amazed by how your child grows in intellect and confidence. Children should be 4 years old by December.
Our curriculum was developed to meet the growing readiness skills required for kindergarten while still balancing time for play and respecting the growth of the whole child. We believe children learn in different ways and therefore use multi-sensory teaching strategies and materials. At Busy Bees children learn while exploring, doing, experimenting, building, singing, designing, talking, observing and listening. Our classes are playful, joyful and fun. Our Pre-K curriculum has been thoughtfully planned to provide numerous opportunities to build skills and understanding.
