Activity Descriptions
Free Play - (child directed) Children visit our different centers and choose what activities they wish to do. They may choose from: writing and creation center, library and literacy center, dramatic play center, block center, math/manipulatives/puzzles center, painting easel, playdough/sensory center, science center.
Circle Time - (teacher directed, large group time) Calendar/days of the week, 'Zoophonics', Story, Poetry/fingerplay, singing, phonemic awareness, letter of the week, counting
Group Activity Time - (teacher directed, small group time) Honey Bees do one activity, Bumble Bees and Queen Bees do 3 different activities on a daily basis
Music & Movement (teacher directed, large group time) Singing, dancing, creative expression, fingerplays, listening to different types of music, playing instruments, musical games
Snack (small group time) Snack time is an important time of our day as it is the perfect opportunity to learn good manners. We wait for everyone to be seated before we eat and for everyone to finish before we leave the snack table. Please and Thank you are words we encourage!
Outside Discovery (child directed) - Play and discovery time in our large fenced outside play area. |
