Honey Bees Class | Bumble Bees Class

Our classes are structured around a framework of free play, large group and small group time. Our philosophy is to provide a balance of both child directed play and discovery and teacher directed time. The daily schedule helps all children learn to cope with transitions, self direct and listen to and follow directions. In all our classes children will learn and refine the social skills needed for being in a group setting - sharing, taking turns, listening and considering other people's feelings. The group is like a “family”. They learn to get along, overcome problems, help, support and respect each other. The teachers create a positive environment by modeling respectful behavior and offering strategies and guidance to overcome problems. Our well equipped, spacious classrooms and teacher:child ratio of 1:6 all contribute to the quality preschool experience your child will have at Busy Bees.

Honey Bees Class - $205 per month

Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am -11.30am

Tuesday and Thursday 8.20am - 11.20am

Tuesday and Thursday 12.15pm - 3.15pm

Honey Bees is for children aged 3 and 4 years old.   This 2 day class is the perfect introduction to a group setting and to preschool!

• Pre Reading - 'Zoophonics', Letter of the week, Storytime

• Pre Writing - Fine motor activities including painting, crayons/coloring, gluing, cutting, lacing

• Math - Colors, Shapes, Introduction to Math using manipulatives

• Science - Seasonal themes, planting and growing, animals, insects, lifecycles

Bumble Bees Class - $305 month (Daily Schedule)
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am - 11.30am

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8.20am - 11.20am

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12.15pm - 3.15pm

Bumble Bees is for children aged 4 and 5 years old. This 3 day pre-kindergarten class prepares children for kindergarten by providing a balanced structure and rich curriculum. In this class children refine their social skills as we see more complex collaborative play emerge. The theme based curriculum includes the following activities:

Language and Literacy - Zoophonics, Letter of the week, Phonemic Awareness, Story time, Book extension activities, dictation

Fine Motor - Handwriting Without Tears, Letter and Number Writing, daily name writing, cutting and pasting, coloring, lacing, beading.

Math - Manipulative 'hands on' Math, (sorting, classifying, patterning, measuring, graphing, counting, etc), Counting including daily Calendar

Science - Nature based, Seasons, Life cycles, Experiments, Animals, Insects

Music - Daily Music and Movement and 1 semester of Music Together Preschool Program

Entry Requirement:

For entry to this class children must be at least 4 years old by October 1st 2012.
